Is Trump the new Navalny?

Trump finally came out today and said something about the death of Alexei Navalny and I was wondering how is Trump going to deal with this because Trump obviously can't say anything bad about Putin- God forbid he burn that bridge. Well, Trump decided to compare himself to Navalny and equated Navalny's struggle to his own struggle in this bizarre post on social media.
